My Top List of Young Adult Book Series

Lately, I've been reading a lot of books, no, not school books but novels. I almost forgot that reading is kind of one of my hobbies. I looked up in the internet of books that's worth reading. But it's not that much of recommendations that fill my expectations. Well, it's because we have our own preferences, right?

So, I'm reading a lot of young adult series and they are all very interesting! Young adult books mostly have romance in it, which is my favorite genre because of the lack of my own romance life. But just so you know, I like reading book with romance, not book of romance. So the book is not about the romance itself, the romance is just a side dish, complementing but not over-powering.

Stories I love the most is about life changing situation or about a world we never known of. You know, like spies, princesses, magic, futuristic, dark realm, such things. It might sounds childish but it is interesting. Diving in into imaginations is fun, you know?

Okay, here are some books I read and love, with little description:

1. Princess Diaries Series by Meg Cabot

This series is about a girl named Mia who suddenly become a Princess of European country called Genovia after her dad, The Genovia Prince who separated from her mom is no longer able to have an offspring. Mia stays in New York while receiving princess lesson from her mean grandmere. She fall in love with her bestfriend's brother. Strayed away by the people who turned 180 degree from mean to nice, she is facing serious problem that can danger her friendship. The book is told in an interesting way as the book is Mia's diary. A lot of funny and interesting happenings in her life is written, the most I interested in is her struggles in achieving self confident and choosing the right things to do. This book is just awesome. Because you just want to smack Mia from all her own assumption while it's really clear what is happening in front of her from our own view. You would want to root for her as well because you would think she is just like you and you want her to reach a happy ending.

2. Gallagher Series by Ally Carter

This series told about Cammie's life as a girl-spy. She study and lives in a school called Gallagher Academy which is known as the school for geniuses while it's actually a spy school. Being a spy is good but as a girl you would like to fall in love as well. The Gallagher Girls may be prodigies in espionage, but there are some mysteries even a genius I.Q. and serious combat skills can't help solve--like how to keep your heart undercover.

3. The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

The story has a background where society is classified in caste from One who's the richest until Seven who's the most miserable. The Selection is the chance for any girl from any caste to change their life, to become One as the country's Prince wife. For thirty-five girls chosen, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks. Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

4. Airhead Series by Meg Cabot

The tomboy Emerson Watts is no longer herself when she wake up in a hospital after the tv-plasma accident. She is still Emerson Watts inside, but outside, she is the famous supermodel Nikki Howard.

5. Avalon High by Meg Cabot

Ellie Harrison has just moved to Annapolis, Maryland. Her new school, Avalon High, seems like a typical high school with the stereotypical students. But not everyone at Avalon High is who they appear to be, not even Ellie herself. Although Avalon High seems harmless enough, Ellie finds herself in the middle of a modern-day medieval bout of good versus evil.

And here are some books I just read the first volume and love it, but too lazy to read the next book in the series:
Obsidian (#1 book of Lux Series) by Armentrout Jennifer L.

When Katy moved to West Virginia, she'd pretty much hate the new boring place, until she spotted her hot neighbor. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. They don't get along at all. But when a stranger attacks Katy and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, something unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks her. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has Katy lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way she's getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until her alien mojo fades.

Shadowland (#1 book of The Mediator Series) by Meg Cabot

Suze is a mediator -- a liaison between the living and the dead. In other words, she sees dead people. And they won't leave her alone until she helps them resolve their unfinished business with the living. But Jesse, the hot ghost haunting her bedroom, doesn't seem to need her help. Which is a relief, because Suze has just moved to sunny California and plans to start fresh, with trips to the mall instead of the cemetery, and surfing instead of spectral visitations. But the very first day at her new school, Suze realizes it's not that easy. There's a ghost with revenge on her mind and Suze happens to be in the way.

Divergent (#1 book of Divergent Series) by Roth Veronica

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue. On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Uglies (#1 book of Uglies Series) by Scott Westerfeld

Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license - for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there. But Tally's new friend Shay rather risk life on the outside and run away, The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.

Oh, oh and I have a collection of this books called “Goosebumps” by R.L. Stine, I’ve collected this books since I was in elementary school. These books are the first horror books that are targeted for younger audience. I love these books, the horror used to make me afraid of sleeping alone. Well, not anymore though, err, maybe some books, just a few.

So those are my top list of young adult book series. What about yours? Make sure to recommend me some if you have the time. Alright thanks for reading!
